Review by hotel critic
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Butchers, a lovely chalet tucked away that offered all the comforts of home. As an archaeologist often immersed in the ancient worlds of the Middle East, I relished the juxtaposition of my scholarly pursuits with culinary delights. The full English breakfast was a standout; quite possibly the best I've ever had, a fusion of tradition and taste that sets the tone for a day filled with adventure. I returned in the evenings, often exhausted from birdwatching trips around the area, and treated myself to meals prepared by their chef. The veggie options were particularly noteworthy-an unexpected delight that didn't compromise on flavor. While the enclosed garden next to the chalet could use a bit of tidying, the cozy atmosphere of the pub more than compensated. The staff were accommodating, adjusting their schedule to fit my outings, which made for a comfortable stay. I also appreciated the tea and coffee-making facilities in the chalet, perfect for those early mornings. The Butchers provided a great blend of relaxation and gourmet experience-just what any traveling foodie would appreciate!
